RDP is a secure network communications protocol for Windows based applications running on a server.

It allows communication between a client and server on nearly any type of network.

RDP is a designed to facilitate application data transfer security and encryption between client users, devices and a virtual network server.

RDP can support up to 64,000 separate data channels for data transmission. Data can be encrypted using 128-bit keys.

RDP forms the basis for Microsoft’s remote desktop software (Remote Desktop Services).

A client system is logged into the host computer, it displays the host’s screen and allow users to access files, applications, and other resources on the host machine.
